About Spiritualism

Declaration of Principles

We believe in Infinite Intelligence.

We believe that the phenomena of nature, both physical and spiritual are the expression of Infinite Intelligence.

We affirm that a correct understanding of such expression and living in accordance therewith constitute true religion.

We affirm that the existence and personal identity of the individual continue after the change called death.

We affirm that communication with the so-called dead is a fact, scientifically proven by the phenomena of Spiritualism.

We believe that the highest morality is contained in the Golden Rule: "Whatsoever ye would that others should do unto you, do ye also unto them.

We affirm the moral responsibility of individuals and that we make our own happiness or unhappiness as we obey or disobey Nature's physical and spiritual laws.

We affirm that the doorway to reformation is never closed against any soul here or hereafter.

We affirm that the precepts of Prophecy and Healing contained are Divine attributes proven through Mediumship.

Definitions

Spiritualism is the Science, Philosophy and Religion of continuous life, based upon the demonstrated fact of communication, by means of mediumship, with those who live in the Spirit World.

A Spiritualist is one who believes, as the basis of his or her religion, in the communication between this and the spirit world by means of mediumship, and who endeavors to mold his or her character and conduct in accordance with the highest teachings derived from such communion.

A Medium is one whose organism is sensitive to vibrations from the spirit world and through whose instrumentality intelligence's in that worlds are able to convey messages and produce the phenomena of Spiritualism.

A Spiritualist Healer is one who, either through own inherent powers or through his mediumship, is able to impart vital, curative force to pathologic conditions.

The Phenomena of Spiritualism consist of Prophecy, Clairvoyance, Clairaudience, Gift of Tongues, Laying on of Hands, Healing, Visions, Trance,  Apports, Revelation, Levitation, Raps, Automatic and Independent Writing and Paintings, Photography, Materialization, Psychometry, Voice and any other manifestation proving the continuity of life as demonstrated through the physical and Spiritual senses and faculties of man.

A Science, Philosophy and Religion

"Spiritualism is a Science" because it investigates, analyzes and classifies facts and manifestations demonstrated from the spirit side of life.

"Spiritualism is a Philosophy" because it studies the laws of nature both on the seen and unseen sides of life and bases its conclusions upon present observed facts of past ages and conclusions drawn there from, when sustained by reason and by results of observed facts of the present day.

"Spiritualism is a Religion" because it strives to understand and to comply with the Physical, Mental, and Spiritual Laws of Nature, "which are the laws of God."

What Spiritualism Is and Does

It teaches personal responsibility

It removes all fear of death, which is really the portal of the spirit world

It teaches that death is not the cessation of life, but a mere change of condition.

It teaches not that man has a soul, but that man is a soul and has a body.

It teaches that man is a spiritual being now, even while encased in flesh.

It teaches that as man sows on earth he reaps in the life to come.

It teaches that those who have passed on are conscious - not asleep.

It teaches that communion between the living and the "dead" is scientifically proved.

It teaches that the spark of divinity dwells in all.

It teaches that as a flower gradually unfolds in beauty, so the spirit of man unfolds and develops in the spirit spheres.

It teaches that every soul will progress through the ages to heights, sublime and glorious, where God is Love and Love is God.

Spiritualism is God's message to mortals, declaring that there is no death. That all who have passed on still live. That there is hope in the life beyond for the most sinful.

It is a manifestation, a demonstration, and a proof of the continuity of life and of the truth of the many Spirit manifestations recorded in the Bible.

It demonstrates the many Spiritual gifts with which mankind is endowed but which through want of knowledge have been allowed to lie dormant or through prejudice have been violently and unjustly suppressed.

Spiritual Healing

A Spiritualist healer is one who either through his own inherent powers or through his mediumship, is able to impart vital, curative forces to pathological conditions.

The results of Spiritual Healing are produced in several ways to-wit:

By the spiritual influences working through the body of the medium and thus infusing curative, stimulating and vitalizing fluids and energies into the diseased parts of the patients body. By the spiritual influences illuminating the brain of the healing medium so that the cause, nature and seat of the disease in the patient become known to the medium. Through the application of absent treatments whereby spiritual beings combine their own healing forces with the magnetism and vitalizing energy of the medium and convey them to the patient who is distant from the medium and cause them to be absorbed by the system of the patient.

Spiritual Healing is recognized by the New Testament. It has been a tenet of ancient and modern religions and is now a tenet of modern spiritualism practiced by our healers.

Spiritualism does not deny that physicians and surgeons are quite necessary. We cooperate with them at all times.

Prayer for Spiritual Healing

I ask the great unseen healing force to remove all obstructions from my mind and body and to restore me to perfect health. I ask this in all sincerity and honesty and I will do my part. I ask this great unseen healing force to help both present and absent ones who are in need of help and to restore them to perfect health. I put my trust in the love and power of God.
